This reveal is months in the making. It was actually done for a long time, but I just got the chance to photographed it a few days ago. So here it is, finally gracing this blog.
If you want a little background about this project, check it out here. But for those who are too lazy to click that, this house is for two sisters, hence House of Femme. Ultra girly, no compromise needed. :)
I started with a blank slate since they are on an going renovation when I get into the picture, which means the before picture is pretty much nothing. Haha
Here are the nothingness...
Blank. Blank. Blank. The plan was to create a chic French inspired living space. And that is just what we did.
So without further ado, I present the Living/Dining space of the House of Femme.
The living space is so much fun. A plum formal looking but very comfortable sofa. Lots of pillows to move around. A very graphic zebra rug. Huge ornate mirror.
All the chairs they already own that we refinished and reupholstered. Some botanical prints were printed and framed to give the wall some color. We used their old chandelier to highlight the dining space.
We had moldings installed on that wall to amped up the Frenchness.
This is the view when seating on the bay window. Love this angle. I don't know what's with this shot but its one of my fave.
Their repainted china cabinet, and vintage bar cart.
And look who made an appearance... hello there! haha
I have a confession to make. I can't decide on how how to style the coffee table so if you check out the photos, they are totally inconsistent. I even removed everything for the last few shots. Well, a home evolves so let's call this a test run.
I'm so happy with this space. All the client's request and aesthetics were met, and they are happy as well. Which makes me much happier! OA na sa happy yan ha.. haha
What I love most about this space is that most of the furnishing you see here are just refinished stuff that the client already owned. The only new big pieces are the sofa and the dining table. See, you can build a new room with your existing stuff. :)
Up next is the bedroom reveal. Soon!
I didn't realized how neglected this blog was until I checked the date and saw that in half a month, I only have 2 posts. TWO. That is my lowest of low. So I'll try to make it up to this dear blog of mine by finally posting this project I'm working on.
This will be the starter home for a (somewhat) newly wed couple. Trivia: Owner of Fashion Designer's Lounge Pad did their wedding gown/suit. Purely coincidental but what a very small world. :)
Anyway, this townhouse was rented from the hubby's family for a very long time and now, it's their time to make it their home.
Here's the small living/dining area:
Here's the plan...
Fresh. Colorful. Cozy. That's the goal here. You may noticed that the door was moved in the middle of that wall, Feng Shui Master's order. :) It actually made the layout better so yey! Two-tone grey walls, warm wood elements, yellow/teal/mint colors.
Other main area to work on is the Master Bedroom:
And here is the plan...
This is a more grown-up design. Since this is the bedroom, they just wanted calm soothing colors. To make it not too mature, I added some black industrial elements like the lamps and tv stand. Three-toned walls just for a bit of detail.
We're actually doing over the entire house -bathrooms, hallways, extra rooms, KITCHEN!- so I'll be sharing a lot of this project. I'm sooo loving how everything is turning out, room by room, its coming together. We're nearing the final stage of the construction which means furnishing and decorating is up next. Until then, hello and goodnight.
P.S. Not literally until then, since I have a lot more to share, but goodnight it is. It's 5am. Goodnight.
If I'll have a room to turn into an office, I'd be laying it out this way. I'm way more productive with a table right in the center of the room rather than smack into a wall. Its airy, its creative, its a mix of a lot of good stuff--the painted farmhouse table, bamboo bench, rattan chair, lovely mirror.. I can go on and on!
The kids' rooms are almost done, and I'm excited to finally shoot my first rooms for the little ones. As they say, you'll never forget your first. haha.. But seriously, I'm all about color and a kid's room is the best place for it. So yeah you can say everything will have some color in it.
Here are some of progress that went on.
Some paint, new airconditioner ducting, and a lot of mess.
All painted and all clear to move-in some stuff. Not colorful YET.
And finally, the customized furniture are in. Now that is the color I'm talking about. :)
The next step would be adding more life to that room. Chairs, shades, mattress, beddings, shelves, and some accessories.
Aqua blue walls, pale grey ceiling, and again, the mess.
Pink doors are here!
And yes, the bed is pink too.
But it's not all pink and blue, we'll have some lime, turquoise, a little white and black over here and there.
In the next post update about this project, you'll see what I'm talking about. Hopefully it will look really close to the moodboards I made.
