Here's the second batch of the PSID exhibit. If you haven't seen the first one, it's next to this post. I'm pretty sure this will make much for sense if you read that first. :)

This dining room is so fresh and innovative. Those ceiling details are cut-out pipes clustered to create that look. Those white bambooesque branch at the back are also pipes, and the dining table stand too!

This bathroom is inspired by the yin and yang. Combination of curvy and straight, black and white. It has a sense of serenity.

I'm drawn to colors and pattern so this I really like. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's just so fun. All the cabinet doors, the bar detail, and even the light fixtures are made of cardboard.

This space = sweet dreams. And this is not even a bedroom! It's just so calm, and soft, and lovely. Most of it are paper mache finished. They even used cut-out tissue rolls to create a patterned wall. Say hello to the gorgeous ceiling...

..........................................STEEL...........................................

I love the tension between feminine and masculine in this space. The dainty accent wall to ceiling steelworks, with the very macho aircraft-part dining table; the pale turquoise and rich pink, with the deep grays and blacks; the soft sheer drapes, with the hard and shiny steels -irony at its best.

This space takes inspiration from copper. Not only by the use of material, but by the overall feel of the room too. It's warm and inviting, the coppery colors together with some of its complimentary hue.

..........................................CEMENT...........................................

Cement finish are always perceived as the starting point, then you'll go to painting, or whatever you do to cover it up. But raw cement finish with just a top coat is so in right now. Just look at this space. It has a very industrial vibe going on, and I'm sure it's so durable too. I want to take home all that frames, the mirrors, the poofs, and if I can fit that giant cove seating in our house, I'll take that too!

A super whimsical girls' bedroom. Alice in the Wonderland inspired with a touch of goth. All the finishes in this space are so fun and creative!

..........................................STONE...........................................

The dark stone walls are mixed with the bright yellows, and the organic stones are mixed with modern cabinetry, to balance this kitchen out. The kitchen feels spacious and very functional.

A very graphic wall accents the whole space. This room has a lot of movement and curves which is very sexy. Loving their take on a wing back chair.

There you go, all the booths presented at this year's PSID exhibit. I was actually contemplating on going back to school. Might do it someday, the students inspired me. I might not have the patience and time to go through it right now, my lazy side feels like it's done with studying, but never say never right? Oh how I do hope they have some sort of a crash course or short study of interior design. I would love to take that! Though I'm pretty sure everything needed to be learned doesn't fit in any crash course. It takes a lot of time. I'm doing yet another nonsense blab, so there it is. SM North Edsa (Beside the Block)

Every year, the graduating students of the advance class of PSID holds an exhibit of their work. This year, I was invited to the Press day, an advance viewing before it opens to the public. I never realized that this little blog of mine is considered "press" it sounded so legit. Haha.. But of course I went, and was so inspired with what they created.

This year's exhibit is called Jak 'en Poy: An Interior Design Exhibit of Sustainable Proportions. Basically, each group is assigned a sustainable material that they need to work with and incorporate in the majority of their design. Since it's 10 materials times 2 groups each times tons of pictures and inspirations, I divided this post in two parts. 

..........................................GLASS...........................................

The walls, floors, and furniture are all made of glass or mirror. This is a modern take on an Egyptian inspired bedroom. Love the high-gloss feel a glass does to a wall, it did make it much more glamorous.

A very striking black and white living room inspired by The Crystal Palace. A graphic photo of the said structure serves as the drawing point of this space. The arch ceiling and walls are clad with mirrors. It's so pristine! 

..........................................BAMBOO...........................................

I love the warm atmosphere of this kitchen. Bamboo was used through out - lighted post, chairs, cabinets. The combination of black and bamboo gave this space a richer feel.

This bathroom is very organic looking, from the soak tub, to the shower wall panels, and even the light fixtures. This look is perfect for a spa retreat -very relaxing.

..........................................RUBBER...........................................

Loving the graphic red rubber ceiling and wall. Those random shelving nooks are also great. Makes this space so unique.

Someday I will have my very own oversized tufted headboard. A very girly punk boudoir, with rubber touches everywhere - floors, mirror, and yes, that graphic girl is made out of rubber too.

..........................................WOOD...........................................

The use of wood in this kitchen is very unexpected. Those drop ceiling details, the counter, and shelves are so fun. Also loving the use of different stains/wood tones. 

Wood as a bathroom tile? Yup. They used wood to create that mosaic on the shower, tub, and sink area . That would also look amazing as an accent wall in any part of a house, it would warm up the space and add so much drama and texture. I'm inspired.

This is the prettiest most real home office I've seen in the interweb. How do you make a space so chic with all that stuff lying around? This office is so raw and unpretentious and I like it a lot. 

I am not dreaming. This is for real. Food Stylist's Office is on the cover of Real Living October issue! How can I be so blessed? A few months into this decorating gig and I have my work featured in a magazine, and on the cover no less!

And using my two current favorite colors -turquoise and pink - as their cover accents? Hello? So meant to be. Hahaha. Pardon my weird enthusiasm, it's just that I've known for a month but I have to keep mum so this excitement is just overwhelming. It's so surreal, one minute I'm meeting with a potential client assessing the space, the next minute its gracing a magazine. Fine, I'll shut up and stop my giddily blabber.

Just go grab a copy of Real Living's October issue, I know I will!

This day is off to a good start. Design*Sponge featured one of my project- the Food Stylist's Office. This is the very first time I've seen these professionally taken photos, and here's my favorite...

Those magazine covers up on the wall describe this shot real well... yummy yummy yummy I've got love in my tummy! Haha...

I think the new photos are for another feature that will be coming out very soon, and I'll share it with you once it's out. I'm so excited, and I can't hide it! Okay that's too much lyrics reference in one short post.

You'll see how lame of a blogger I am by this post. Last Aug 29, Beepinkaholic (from twitter) had a very simple request..

"can you please please feature a room that has pink as the main color? but not a nursery?"

Of course I said yes. I'm a sucker for pink.

About a month later, here I am doing the post. ONE WHOLE MONTH. What have I been doing? And only 5 post up by this time of the month is so pathetic. So here I'm doubling this Pink room post as sort of a pinky promise to all that I'll get this blog moving. Okay? okay.

Lets get to pink. I love pink. I had a pink room, twice. So how do we carry our love of pink to some level of maturity in terms of decorating? Here's how...

Using pink doesn't necessarily mean you'll make the room look juvenile. Like all colors, it has different shades and tones that would look lovely in an adult's space. Just avoid bubblegummish or baby pinkish pinks, add tons of grown-up furniture and accessories, and you're good to go.

To all pink lovers out there, pink room doesn't end at 13! It actually ends when you get hooked up. Unless your man is man enough to handle the color that depicts the essence girliness. Good luck with that!

I saw clips of their home via twitter and I asked him if he could send me some photos to share in the blog. I'm so glad he said yes. I really want to feature homes of fellow Filipinos, and hopefully, this is the first of many.

I love the clean white, with a punch of blue. Their choice of furniture is so streamlined and fresh.

They got this condominium unit really bare.  They configured this space and renovated it to suit the needs of a their budding family.

"Our inspiration was Santorini - white, Greek flag blue, and ocean artifacts. We've never been there, but that's exactly the drawing point. We wanted our home to feel like an escape from the outside world. It was a place to feel safe, inspired, and cozy." -Jar

And I really do think it's inspiring! This is a perfect example of designing a room around an artwork. The feel of this space, the colors, and the elements are taken from the painting. It really is the starting point for all that beachy vibe.
