A few days ago, the bf and I are discussing our dream home and how we would decorate it. Yes, those typical stuff any couple talk about --interior design. Haha.. He told me he wanted it to be eclectic. Whew!! A big sigh of relief as I was anticipating that he wanted a little too masculine-- woods, blacks, metals, rustic. Don't get me wrong, I love those elements! But please don't deprive me of my much needed color and contrast. So when I heard eclectic.. that's good enough for me. Mix and match of different styles and elements is a good compromise. Woohoo! Now to have that dream home, that's a different story. 

Anyway, after that said conversation, I immediately googled "eclectic home" to see inspiration that both him and I would love. This probably isn't it. But I LOVE this home of Spanish photographer Manolo Yllera. For me, this is eclectic perfection. Gawd everything in this is gorgeous and warm and just lovely.

It is situated in this character-filled loft. The old elements brings in so much life to this place. Those high ceilings, arch windows, and imperfect walls are the best backdrop to all his amazing furnishing.

All the mis-matched living room furniture just works so well together. 

Everything is neutral with just a hint of reds. But it's not at all sterile or boring because of all the texture and interesting artwork everywhere.

Oohh that not very child-friendly but oh so pretty screen.

Our future house will definitely have a rustic wood dining table with mis-matched chairs.  This photo just solidify that idea. And look at that door with an illustration, too cute!

A Smeg is preferable but not in our budget in probably the next 10 years. But that would be the dream. Another quirky touch -- sideway mirror with pen scribbles.

Very charming kitchen. I can just imagine it filled with cupcakes and tea. Haha..

A very functioning office right above the kitchen. Such great use of space. I can just imagine the view of the living area from here. Envious!

How amazing is this home? Our dream home is now officially industrial-eclectic. What's your dream home?

I've used a lot of wallpaper in the duration of my still short decorating career. It gives so much visual impact to any space without much effort. Unless of course, you'll be the one to install then that is so much effort right there. Haha.. There are some stigma to wallpaper these days, since it's not as easy to replace. Plus all the 80's floral wallpaper we've seen and hated --- with matching floral curtains with matching floral bedding set with matching floral dress! haha.. 

But I still love it nonetheless. If you found a pattern and color you love then go for it. If you're afraid to commit for an entire room, just install it to one accent wall.  Just look at his home office set up. Loving the tribal print with those red-orange and pale blue. It's the perfect backdrop for an instant creative space.

Let me start this by saying... ANG INIT!!! hahaha... This summer is excruciatingly hot. It's 3:30 in the morning and the humidity is still lingering in this humid air. Yes, that redundancy is my attempt in describing how hot it really is. And all you Philippine dwellers know what I'm talking about. 

That first paragraph is probably not the best introduction to this specific post. Leather sofas does not sit well with hot weather. Eeeky sweaty butt-leather combination is a kinda disgusting thought, but leathers have its pros. Easy maintenance is on top of the list.

I used to hate leather sofas until I realized that not all of them are tacky synthetic looking creature that were very trendy during the 90s. Ek. No. Bleh.

But these pieces? Oh love. Yes come to me. Come to my dream home. I'll live with you forever. Sweaty butt and all.

I'm still not sure if I wanted a classic tufted chesterfield or a simpler mid-century looking piece. But vintage is definitely the way to go.

Anyway, if you're going for a leather, go for a worn looking one. It would be prettier in time. It grows with your home. Just look at this.

And as for the color, this is perfect. I'll definitely get the perfect cognac brown. Not too dark. No red in it. With a hint of orange. Just perfect.

I know that this kind of sofa will be perfect for our concrete house. It will warm up the stark walls. It will add to the texture of the space. Perfect backdrop to whatever colorful stuff I'll be layering in.

I'm always talking about my dream home in here. As they say, if you want it. CLAIM IT. So this is not the last time you'll hear of it. It will probably be the first of hundreds of posts to come. I've been day dreaming of the perfect house that me and the bf would both feel comfortable in. So a lot of inspirations are in this head of mine, and this blog will be my outlet. :) Someday, instead of just inspiration, I'll be posting the process of actually building it. Now, that is one exciting project I can't wait to get my hands to.

I've talked about loving the industrial concrete look here, and I'm so into raw finishes nowadays, so this wall is really speaking to me. If I could mimic this aged looking wall, I totally would! And I think I'll try it in our future dream home, whenever that one would come. Soon hopefully!

What I love about this space is how it combined my new love for industrial, and my forever love for prints and colors. See, you don't have to go all "themey" for your space, incorporate all things you love in just the right amount of dosage and balance then you'll be happy.

Anyway, the print on this hanging light reminds me so much of the fabric I used in the chair makeover here. I still have some remnants, I would have to do my version of this drop light for my future office. :)

The keys is having high ceilings and big windows, and tada!! New york smack right in Manila. Haha.. The concrete is the perfect neutral gray for all the furnishings, plus I love how it got a lot of texture and specks. Besides, if we ever get tired of the look, we can always have it painted. :) 

Now I need to go back to work to make that dream house of ours a reality.

DuoDeco Studio was truly blessed this past weeks. Aside from selling major pieces, Preview and Real Living will be featuring the store in their July issue, yes they make those issues this advance! They had a shoot at the showroom and here are some snap shots.

I was seriously amazed on how their pictures look like. My own showroom photos are all dark and artificially lit, but theirs are so fresh and light and airy looking. Haha.. I'm asking for those photos for sure!

Rooms should have a focal point, may it be the wallpaper, an artwork, or a piece of furniture. In this space, it's all about the desk. I'm in love with this piece, the spacious workspace, the drawers, the finish, and the vintage feel it exudes. The overall space is traditional and really nice, and this desk gives it so much character. LOVE.

This space is just wow. All the architectural detail-- high arch ceiling, brick wall, arch window-- is the perfect back drop for their gorgeous things. Every furnishing is a statement on its own. So in love with this space!
