Love it or Hate it: Black Bedroom
3/06/2011 12:01:00 AM
We've all seen tons of black bedrooms around the web, and we may say.. "ooh pretty.."
but do you have the guts to do it in your own room? The room you see everyday, all black all day??

if you know who I can credit for this pic, let me know. :)
It's so dramatic...
moody...

and sexy.
But some just need to have a bright, airy room.
Do you vote for "I love it and I can honestly surely paint my bedroom black.. "

Or "I hate it and I can never have such dark space"

I think it would depend on the space for me...if it was a good size room with lots of natural light, I'd totally do it! But a super small room I would probably keep lighter.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, love it!! Pretty, pretty, pretty!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brittany, if there were a lot of natural light I could probably do it. The bedrooms above look adorable, I just don't know if I could do it myself!
ReplyDeleteI think "I love it and I can honestly surely paint my bedroom black.. " :] Which is weird since if you asked me this question last year or so..I would have been like no!! I love my light!! ;D I think my darky dark night loving bf is rubbing on to me...
ReplyDeleteI like it on a single wall, or half walls. My daughters room is black (she asked to keep it black when we moved in - the previous owners had painted it) but after years she is planning to paint it this summer - white!
ReplyDeleteFirst room kicks but! The chandelier in there is to die for. I love everything about it. To me, they are romantic as heck! Put some candle light. Yeah baby! LOL. Great post. Thanks for posting.

ReplyDeleteits great! my bedroom is dark brown and we love it
ReplyDeleteMy husband would love a black bedroom, because he wishes he could sleep in a cave. He works nights, and any stray beam of light that makes its way into our bedroom is ruthlessly exterminated. We have a pull down blind, venetian blinds, and black-out curtains on our bedroom windows and he's still not satisfied.
ReplyDeleteHow terrible am I that I'm not going to show him these rooms? :)
So pretty in all of them. My feature wall in my room is a sweet apple green, maybe I'll go black when I want to switch it up next!
ReplyDeleteI love all of this. Were I not going to have to move in a few years, I'd love to do something like with the black
ReplyDeleteThanks for the input! I think a lot of people are more daring nowadays and are willing to go black. I for one painted one bedroom wall almost black. Though I'm not sure if I can do a whole room this color. But I may try it someday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by.. :)
I might consider using black in the bedroom if prodded by my boyfriend, but I probably wouldn't opt for it myself. I certainly appreciate the drama of it but I think I just like other looks better.
ReplyDeleteLike it, but not in my house. I think all these dramatic looks are really well put together, but a bit much for my taste! So I get to admire from afar!
ReplyDeleteThe first room you showed was gorgeous... but I don't know... I'm a "light" person myself... so the room would have to be very large and with exceptional lighting for me to go there...I might could stand an accent wall in black... but I think that's it.... I love the look though!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by. I'd love to hear what you think! :)
