DIY Chandelier

I have big plans for our dining space including (but definitely not limited to) decoupaging the entire 8 seater round table (with lazy susan!), refinishing and painting 6 chairs a bright bold color (yes we only have 6 chairs in an 8 seater),  and making a DIY chandelier.

When I say DIY, I don't mean repainting an old one, or changing a shade. I mean find some junk and create something entirely from scratch with as little spending as possible. Yep, that's the dream.

I thought of creating a huge drum shade using hula-hoop since I have tons of fabrics. Or using an old fan as base and hanging whatever shiny I can find. I still have no idea what I'll do.

I search through Flickr for some inspiration and guess what? I got plenty.

This CD chandelier looks great both morning and night!

I love LOVE the shadow this chandelier casts! Made of beads/pearls I guess :)

How about using cups, bottles, or glasses? They really do make decent light fixtures.

Now, nothing says more dining room than this chandelier.

This is ingenious. Can you guess what this is made of?
Hangers people, HANGERS!

And this is just too cute.

Now please excuse me, I need to rummage our house for dining space's sake.
