The Bedding chapter 1

I went back to Divisoria for another fabric hunting trip. I always go there with my trusty notebook with the list of fabrics and quantity needed. Hate it when I forget to measure up beforehand and ends up calculating and recalculating in my head right there in the fabric stall.

In this trip, I purchased fabrics for my curtain faux wall and for the other window in my bedroom. Though I won't be showing that since its a bore, plain canvas (to be painted the same color as my dark wall) and a plain greyish blue fabric, as seen in the mood board.

Here are the fun stuff I bought...

They're for my bedding. I've never had a thought out bedding my entire life. Its always been the matching pillow case and bed sheet set with tacky or boring prints. Or just left overs of what's still good to use from really old pillow cases from childhood. I swear I still use a hello kitty pillow case for my "hotdog" -yes, that's what we call our long circular pillows.

So I made sure that this time around, I would at least have a not too matchy, but well thought out bedding.

It started with this fabric I purchased a while back, which also inspired the whole color scheme for the room.

To see how the fabrics will look together, I wrapped them on my pillows, dust and all, for the sake of my peace of mind.

This will be the first set of pillow cases:
The lovely coral/turquoise print, a plain turquoise, and the small printed fabric as accent.

And since we live in a country where dryers are not so common (hot weather = hanging clothes to dry), I need another set.

Set numero dos.
The great orange/pink floral print, plain hot pink, and the same small print as accent.

I want the two sets to be equally fun but different, so it'll look "new" every couple of weeks. The bedding will be just white and cream to complement these bright colors, and those plain colored pillow cases (fabrics which I already have from my clothing business before) will have a white border for some added pop.

These fabrics will bring so much fun to this room! Buh-bye hello kitty. I love you but I won't miss you.
