A bedside story ~before and after

After feeling oh so genius about making a nightstand from the tray and dress form, I ended up not using it. Don't feel sorry for her though, she's still much loved. I'll find something for her to do.

Since the secretary is on the other side of the bed, I need something equally hefty on this side for some visual balance. Guess who I found?

Well she's not actually hiding. Here she is presenting herself for a much substantial role besides being some awkward dresser along side a pretty vanity:

She received the same technique I did for the secretary - grey paint, white dry brush, and a touch of pink.

Love this color, I asked the paint "mixer" guy to add a bit of blue. So does this already count as French Grey? I've been seeing that color going around and it sounds so royal. Haha

The lovely lamp that provides such moody lighting at night.

With the help of some books, the lamps are now the same height.

Can you visualize my curtain wall with faux moulding behind the bed? I think it will be fabulous.

So that's my bedside story. It came out just the way I wanted, balanced, but not too matchy-matchy.

  3. Looks great. You should make a tall headboard to balance the height of your nightstands. They aren't that hard to make. Here's a link to the one I did http://jandjhome.blogspot.com/2011/01/diy-upholstered-headboard-using-ikea.html

  4. Thanks you all! :)

@Jandjhome, yeah I'm planning to do something to balance the height of the bedside furniture, the bed looks so tiny between those two! Thanks for the suggestion.
